Nancy Louise Burks

Nancy Louise Burks (79) of Picayune, Mississippi passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 11, 2025 surrounded by family.

Nancy was born on November 24, 1945 in Picayune to her father Joseph W. Redmond, and mother Louise Stockstill Redmond. She was a lifelong resident of Picayune and a devout Christian who attended Unity Baptist Church for many years. Nancy was married for 47 years to the love of her life Prentiss Burks, and they shared 9 children together. She took immense pride in being a wife and mother, but loved doting on her grandchildren most of all. Nancy was known for her cooking, crossword puzzles, and studying her bible.

She is preceded in death by her husband Prentiss Burks, father Joseph Redmond, mother Louise Stockstill Redmond, sons Jim Archer, Dustin Burks, step daughter Joanne Buselmeier, sister Ann Williams, and grandson Josiah Archer.

Nancy's memory will be cherished by her sons Joey Archer (Darlene), Sonny Archer (Becky), Judd Burks (Alison), step sons Larry Burks (Sonya), Jamie Burks, step daughter Lisa Moylan, daughter in law Amy Archer (Jim), sisters Amy Jo Wise, Connie Sanderlin, 19 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral for Nancy will be held on Tuesday February 18, 2025 at 11AM at Henleyfield Cemetery located at 5715 Hwy 43 N. Carriere, MS 39466.
