Alvy Irene Strickland, age 90, formerly of Picayunepassed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Woodland Village Nursing Center in Diamondhead, MS.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 26th at 2:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Oren Spence officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 26th from 12:00 noon until time of service at Picayune Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lee's Chapel #2 Cemetery, under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
She is survived by her son, Lonnie J. (Debra) Strickland of Jacksonville, FL; daughter-in-laws, Helen Varnado and Joan Saunders; sisters, Iceebelle Morgan of Midway, TX, Eloise King of Livingston, TX and Lavern Atwell of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pierce and Lena Walker; husband, L.V. Strickland; sons, Vaiden E. Strickland and Lonnie E. Strickland; brother, E. J. Walker; and sisters, Essie Cobb, Arnette Horn and Jackie Tyler.
