Anthony "Tony" Tarver of Picayune, Mississippi left his earthly life on Friday October 20, 2023 at the age of 70.
Tony was a resident of Picayune all his life. He attended Bertie Rouse Elementary and Picayune Jr High Schools. His occupation in life was a tug boat captain on the Mississippi River, but his true passion was anything with two wheels- particularly his Harley Davidson “Lucille”. He later turned this passion into a business when he owned State Line Cycles motorcycle shop. When Tony wasn’t riding or working on his or someone else’s motorcycle; he was training dogs for search and rescue or breaking horses. He dedicated years of his life to volunteer work in Pearl River County. He led many successful search and rescue efforts with his dog “Gabby”. Tony and his wife, Regina, organized the Toys for Tykes motorcycle run for 24 years in Pearl River County, where all donations were used to provide Christmas gifts for underprivileged families. His legacy will be cherished for years to come and he will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Regina Tarver of 27 years; children, Tania (Mark) Stockstill, Tony Tarver, Lesli (Josh) Jordan, Kelsi Malley (CJ Leslie); brother Ray (Debbie) Tarver; grandchildren, Brock Malley, Torie Spiers, and Ethan Stockstill; great grandchildren, Khloey and Kohen; many many cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends will also be left to cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Earl Tarver and Ruby Frierson Tarver; and daughter, Tonya Malley.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday October 27, 2023 at Picayune Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
Tony’s life will be celebrated with a “Final Ride” in the near future.
