Betty was a nurse at Slidell Memorial Hospital for over 30 years before continuing her nursing career with Dr. Serrant for another 20+ years. She continued her love and passion of caring for people up until her final days.
Anyone who has ever met Betty knows that she has the biggest heart of anyone you will ever meet. She is most known for her loving, kindhearted, generous, and selfless acts to family, friends, co-workers and strangers, and her great sense of humor. Actually, Betty never met a stranger because as soon as she met you, she started “giving” to you. Maybe she gave you food or clothing or a thoughtful gift, book or card, or maybe she gave you time – time to pray with you, time to talk with you, time to listen, time to laugh and time to love. If you were fortunate enough to meet her, you were going to feel her love, and you were going to hear her tell you about Jesus. Betty was a woman of strong faith and a member of The Life Church of Picayune.
Betty had a lot of hobbies: she enjoyed crafts, she loved animals, she sang beautifully, she loved caring for people, she loved laughing, and she loved Jesus; but most of all, she loved her family!!
To continue honoring Betty’s legacy, please pay her generosity forward by helping out someone in need.
