Betty Ferreira, of Picayune, Mississippi passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the age of 89. She was a true and faithful child of God and fierce prayer warrior for her family
Betty was born in New Orleans, Louisiana but lived the past thirty-two years in Picayune. She was a teacher's assistant for the Picayune School District and was a founding member of Resurrection Life Church. Before moving to Picayune, Betty was a pre-school teacher and member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in New Orleans for fifteen years.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert R. Augustin of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Brian D. Ferreira (Nicki) of Picayune, Mississippi; three daughters, Trisha Switzer of McKinney, Texas, Peggy Miley (Glen) of Carriere, Mississippi, and Beth Erickson (Charlie) of Metairie, Louisiana; one step-daughter, Linda Ferreira Mace of Covington, Louisiana; "adopted" family members, Stuart and Debbie Brown; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Ferreira; parents, Eugene Moppert and Henrietta Brandt; two brothers, Eugene Moppert and Lloyd Moppert.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 p.m.
