Bruce Wayne Martin

July 13, 1957 — May 15, 2022

On Sunday, May 15, 2022, the world lost a jovial spirit whose presence will be greatly missed by many. Bruce Wayne Martin a resident of Carriere, Mississippi, was born on July 13, 1957, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Leon Anthony Martin and the ever, still present, Barbara Ann Trosclair. Bruce is also survived by his sister Pamela "Pam" Martin Drew. In 1983, he married his best friend and wife Karen Egan Martin. Together they raised four loving children. In life, Bruce is survived by his children, his daughter Misty Martin and her children Ava and Austin; his son Joshua Martin, his wife Jill Martin, and their three children Kaylie, Corrie, and Abbie; his son Nicholas Martin; and last but certainly not least his baby girl Brigitte Martin McGee, her husband Dustin McGee, and their two children Autumn and Lucas (the Golden Boy).
Bruce came into this life with a true love for people. After 30 years of back breaking labor, Bruce found his passion in retirement working with other people as a medical courier for Ochsner. He genuinely loved conversing with others. A favorite with the nurses, Bruce always had a smile and a friendly face. He also loved fast cars and big engines. When asked what his plans were after discharge from the hospital, Bruce stated that he couldn't wait to get home and help his son-in-law rebuild a truck engine. In fact, the grandkids loved being in the garage with PawPaw working on cars. He was everyone's first call, whether it was for the day or in a crisis. If you had a question, he had an answer. He loved stopping in to have lunch with his daughter during the work week. And if you needed a good laugh, nothing was funnier than watching him try to cut grass with his son Nick. Now we're not sure who's going to fix everything that Josh breaks. To be honest, our hearts are broken and Bruce will forever be missed in this existence.
Family, friends and others whose lives Bruce touched are invited to attend Picayune Funeral Home on Friday May 20, 2022, for the viewing from 1:00-3:00 followed by the service at 3:00 pm. Following the service, everyone will progress to Memorial Gardens for the burial. Bruce loved bringing treats to all medical professionals so in lieu of flowers the family asks that you buy your local nurses lunch.
Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
