Cecil Dero Bennett of Picayune, Mississippi passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the age of 83, with his family in the comfort of his home.
Cecil was a lifelong resident of Picayune, Mississippi. He was one of the founding members who started the Street Fair before Main Street Committee was formed. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sally Shoemake Bennett of Picayune, Mississippi; one son, Glenn Bennett of Carriere, Mississippi; one daughter, Carol Ann McRee of Bay Springs, Mississippi; three sisters, Nancy Bennett, O'Nell Bush, and Margaret Gill all of Bogalusa, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Phillip Bennett (Juanita), Travis Bennett (Jessica), Adam Bennett, Jonathan McRee (Johnna), Angie Stokes (Jeremy); eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman Dero Bennett and Lealer May Bennett.
Graveside Service was held, Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Picayune, Mississippi.
