Chrystelle "Chris" Pevey Evans, age 80, of Picayune, MS passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at her home.
Her Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2012 at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. and until time of service. Bro. Wayne Rice will officiate.
Chris was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, cook, tend to her flowers, spend time with her family and going to church. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her mother, Fannie Mae DeLancey of Goss, Mississippi; Husband, Ford Evans of Picayune; Two sons, James Edward Pevey, Jr. of Monticello, Mississippi and Leon Marshall Pevey of Belle Chase, Louisiana; Three daughters, Loretta Arthur of Lacombe, Louisiana, Carol Flathers of Columbia, Mississippi and Debra Sluss of Picayune; Two brothers, Roma DeLancey, Jr. of California and Harold DeLancey of Monticello, Mississippi; Five sisters, Francis Letchworth of Oakvale, Mississippi, Jerrine Speights of Goss, Mississippi, Maudie Prine of Columbia, Mississippi, Charlotte Trott of Oakville, Mississippi and Dall Ward of Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by her father, Roma DeLancey, Sr. one brother, Ellis Ford DeLancey, and her loving first husband, James Pevey, Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideon Bibles, P.O. Box 1465, Picayune, Mississippi 39466.
