Daniel Louis Patch

June 14, 1947 — April 23, 2021

Lifetime resident of Picayune, Mississippi, Daniel Louis Patch, departed this life peacefully, Friday, April 23, 2021 at his home in Yammy Craw Community. He was 73 years old.

Great comfort and peace are found in the knowledge that today he is free from suffering, and in the Holy Presence of his Creator and Savior. For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be Saved, Romans 10:13".

Danny was born June 14, 1947, Flag Day, to John Patch & Helen Whitfield Patch, Grandson of John Jasper Patch and Etta Davis Smith, Dallas Whitfield and Gladys Frierson Whitfield.

He finished Picayune High School and received an associated degree from Jackson Junior College in Drafting while working at Ingalls Shipyard. In 1970 he went to work for South Central Bell (currently AT & T) and he retired after 30 years.

Danny was one of the founders of Smoke Polers Rifle Range in McNeil, Mississippi. He was a member of the Gainesville Volunteers Sons of Confederate Veterans in Picayune, Mississippi and a member of Campbell Hill Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his: father, John Patch, his first wife, Wanda Moree Patch and his infant son, John Edward Patch.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Thornton Patch; mother, Helen Patch; Children: Dana (Reggie) Davis, Shane (Charmaigne) Kirkland, and Sean (Aleshia) Kirkland.
He was blessed with Seven Grandchildren, who was proud to call him "Papa": Joshua, Hannah (Noah), Brandt, Brody, Madison, Coby, Jaxon and his first great-grandson, Cooper. Danny was also survived by his sister, Judy (Mike) Rouse; brother-in-law Tommy (Arlene) Thornton, sister-in-law; Darlene Storey, and several nieces, nephews and his companion and best friend Jake.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at New Palestine Cemetery with Rev. James Reardon officiating.

Our family would like to thank: Southern Care Hospice, Dr. James Crittenden, Wendy Dillard, Jaren Rodriquez, and James Reardon, who assisted in Danny's care.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital.
