Dawn Marie (Lossett) Cooper, 65, of Picayune, Mississippi, made her heavenly departure at her home in the early morning hours on April 16, 2022. Dawn was born to David Lossett, Sr., and Betty Kennedy on September 29, 1956. She graduated from Picayune High School in 1974. She married Billy Cooper on June 03, 1988, in Picayune, Mississippi. She owned and operated an answering service, Answering Business Services, until her retirement in 2007. She loved to spend time with her family and had a passion for cooking. She was a missionary cook with the Pearl River Baptist Association with her father. She was a loyal and devoted wife, a loving mother, a doting Nana, and a caring friend.
Waiting with open arms were her parents, Betty Kennedy Crosby and David Lossett, Sr., her beloved son, Michael Barnes, and the love of her life, William Robert "Billy" Cooper.
Left to cherish memories are her children: Vance Williams of Picayune, MS, Nichole (Shay) Palmer of Carriere, MS, Stacey (Drew) Chavers of Picayune, MS, Colleen (Roger) Stracener of Henleyfield, MS, bonus son: Chris (Shelaina) McGhee of Poplarville, MS; brothers: David (Kathleen) Lossett, Jr. of Killeen, TX, Jason Odom of Picayune, MS, sisters: Denise Lossett of Biloxi, MS, Shawna Dillard of Carriere, MS, Lori (Shannon) Pippen of Carriere, MS; 10 grandchildren: Baily Palmer, Madison Stockstill, Dylan Palmer, Justyce Williams, Kayleigh Chavers, Marlee Chavers, Bodhi Chavers, Brinzley Chavers, Annah Stracener, and Emily Stracener; 3 great-grandchildren: Adelyn Stracener, Evelyn Stracener, Railyn Crawford; best friends: Jerrie "Bones" and Rob Rothering; her fur babies: Meeko and Soffee; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A Celebration of Dawn's Life will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Picayune Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 a.m., with service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Bud Putnam officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where she will once again find peace next to her sweet husband, "BooBoo."
