Deanna "Dee" Spillman, age 84, a resident of Picayune, MS passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
Preceded by her loving husband Del Spillman, parents Albert and Frances (Holderith) Hitt, sister Agnes Werner, and brother Albert Hitt.
Her story began on July 26, 1939 in Washington, DC. Daughter of Albert and Frances (Holderith) Hitt.
Dee grew up in Hyattsville, MD. She graduated from Bladensburg High School and became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star as a young adult. Her first job was as a secretary for the Navy Department where she met the love of her life and future husband Delmer "Del" Spillman. They shared a great love and life for 41 years until Del's death in 1998. They were blessed with three loving daughters, Lisa Ruble (Matt), Linda White, and Velma Spillman. Four beloved grandchildren, Toni Shear (Tony), Thomas "Daniel" Harvey (Amy), Timothy Dwayne Harvey, and Amber Lynn Spillman. And fourteen great grandchildren.
Dee cherished her friendships, developing them at each stage of her life, most lasting throughout her life, and each was very special to her. She loved playing cards, scrabble, and going on girls trips with her dear friends.
Dee had a zest for life, love, and laughter. Her smile was contagious, and her laughter would fill the room. Family was her everything. Her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the light of her life and they were blessed to have her in their lives. She will be deeply missed.
Services to honor and celebrate her beautiful life will be held on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024 at Picayune Funeral Home, located at 815 S. Haugh Avenue, Picayune, MS 39466.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Memorial Garden Cemetery.
