Donald Gene Barnes, age 66, of Carriere, MS passed away June 9, 2013.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.at Picayune Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Henleyfield with Bro. Drew Dabbs officiating. Burial will be at First Baptist Church of Henleyfield Cemetery.
Donald was a lifetime resident of Pearl River County, a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of First Baptist Church of Henleyfield. He was a former Police Officer with Picayune Police Department, Sherriff Deputy in Pearl River and Hancock County, former Constable of Pearl River County and owned his own electrical business.
He is survived by his wife Rose Marie Pullens Barnes of Carriere; two sons, Donnie Barnes of Picayune and Wesley Barnes of Carriere; one daughter Mary Ann Dillard; one brother James W. Barnes of White Sand; eight grandchildren, Zack Barnes, Courtney Barnes, Laura Barnes, Cheyenne Dillard, Steven Dillard, Blake Matta, Tyler Matta and Breanna Matta.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.C. Barnes and Erna Mae Barnes; two brothers Calvin W. Barnes and Gary D. Barnes; and one sister, Gloria Jean Miller.
