Donald "Donnie" Vernon Barnes of Carriere, Mississippi passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the age of 49.
Donnie Barnes, one of the best guys you will ever come across, Donnie never met a stranger and would go out of his way to help anyone anywhere, he was a gentle giant with a huge heart, you could depend on him. Always smiling and enjoying life. He loved Racing, that was his passion, and he is very good, you better catch him on the Tree, and you can guarantee he is going to give you a run for your life. He loved sharing knowledge with people about racing and enjoyed being around racing and just the crowd, he has made friends all over the world and has an awesome Racing family and tons of friends at every event we went. He enjoyed his breakfast in the mornings with his buddies to just sit around drink coffee and talk before the day got started, to the crowds of people at his shop just to come by and chat, fill Nitrous and get Racing fuel. He is genuine and a true man, the definition of a true friend. He is a great father and the best husband anyone could have ever wanted for their daughter. Donnie is my soulmate my life my only love, we shared a love only some people can only dream about. He is my hero and now forever my Guardian Angel. Heaven has gained a remarkable Man and one heck of a racer; he is burning rubber on the Streets of Gold.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Michelle Barnes; son, Zakari Barnes; daughter, Laura Barnes; brother, Wesley Barnes; sister, Mary Ann Dillard.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Rose Barnes.
