Donald Anthony Johnson, age 77, of Picayune passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at his residence. At Donald's request no visitation or memorial service will be observed.
Donald was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, raised in Chalmette and moved to Pearl River County forty-five years ago. He worked at Entergy in New Orleans as the Senior Pole Supervisor for forty-three years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was in the Korean Conflict. He was the former Vice Commander of the American Legion and a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Gwyn Johnson of Picayune; Four sons, Donald A. Johnson, Jr. of Hattiesburg, Jared Johnson of Pearl River, Louisiana, Gary (Kathryn) Kelly of Houston, Texas and Michael (Mary) Kelly of Monroe, Georgia; Two daughters, Inga (Erik) Van Riper of Doylestown, Pennsylvania and Tennia (Brian) Kelly of Panama City, Florida; One brother, James F. Johnson of Ocean Springs; Four grandchildren, Michelle Kelly, Michael Kelly, Jr., Christopher Kelly and Colin Johnson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James F. Johnson, Sr. and Enola Boudreaux Johnson LaFrance; One brother, Emmit Johnson; Two sisters, Delores Johnson Dominick and Elaine Johnson Pritchard.
