Donald "Donnie" Leon Shetter, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019 at home with his family.
Donnie was a member of Bienville Baptist Church. He was very active in spreading the gospel. He was a missionary to Pima Indians in Arizona, started twelve different churches in seven states, and a musician and a gospel song writer. He authored and published Biblical references and wrote a gospel tract that was call "Don't Get Left On Base."
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Bienville Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Willie Tebo officiating. Burial will be in Bienville Baptist Church Cemetery under the directions of Picayune Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary E. Shetter of Picayune; three daughters: Sonja Lawan Robison (Austin), Elizabeth Faye Ladner (Scott), and Doni Kay Shetter all of Mississippi; one brother, William Bryan Shetter ( Sally) of Texas; two sisters: Wanda Elaine Snider (John) and Glenda Faye Biediger both of Texas-: five grandchildren: Wyatt Davis, Tyler Robison, Phoenix Starrett, Donnie Ladner, and Katie Ladner, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and also loved by many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Leroy Bryan Shetter and Irene Elizabeth Shetter and one brother-in-law, Jim Biediger.
