Donald E. Stinson

July 6, 1934 — July 14, 2013

On July 14, 2013, Donald E. Stinson passed into eternal rest. He passed into the afterlife at the age of 79 after a series of complications following surgery in May.

Donald was born in Maypearl, Texas on July 6, 1934 but at the age of 7 moved with his family to New Orleans. He remained in New Orleans throughout his adult life until retiring to Picayune, Mississippi in 1994. He is a graduate of Warren Easton class of 1952.

During his life he was in the Naval Reserve, worked for Chase Manufacturing which became Union Camp, Exopac and later International Paper. Donald was the top salesman in the region during his time with Union Camp.

His family learned the value of hard work from his example, the importance of doing your best at all that you do, and how to be a great provider to your family no matter the personal hardship. His family and loved ones will always miss his warm personality and great sense of humor.

He was past master of Masonic Lodge #395, and avid LSU fan, a member of the Millbrook Boogers Golf Club, a member of the Elders Dining Club and a current usher of Trinity United Methodist Church in Picayune, Mississippi.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Shirley Tedesco Stinson, his four children and their spouses; Sheri Prestridge (Keith), Sheila Parody (Burt), Rebecca Kreamer (Charles) and Barry Stinson (Pam). He was also loved and survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his only sibling Bobbie Sue Stone (Gene) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 19, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church 3021 Woods Rd, Picayune, MS 39466. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 with Rev. Bill Matthews and Rev Megan Becnel officiating.
