Dorothy Marie 'Barber" Baker was born 03/31/31 in Kissimmee Fla. to Clarence and Adele "Thompson" Barber and the Great Grand Daughter of Andrew Jackson Barber "Florida Pioneer' and Veteran of both the 3rd Seminole Indian War and Civil War in the Confederate Calvary. Soon after her High School "Kissimmee H.S." graduation she met and married her husband "James V Baker" of 32 years. Together they had six children. She traveled and lived in multiple states over her life finally settling in Picayune Ms. In 1970. Together they owned and managed two Mobile Home parks, over 25 rental properties, Mobile Home repair and service and a Long Hall Trucking Company. She was one of the founding members of Unity Baptist Church. A founding member of the Pearl Strings Dulcimer Group. She leaves behind Four Sons, Steven J. and wife Kathy, Jack V. and wife Lisa, Clarence "Rick" and wife Martha, Gene and wife Darlene Baker and Daughter Kimberly M. "Baker" and her husband Mark Sherrer along with 14 Grand Children, 32 Great Grandchildren, 10 Great-Great Grandchildren and One Great-Great-Great Grand Child
Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Saturday September 17, 2022, at Unity Baptist Church. Service to begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow to Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
