Douglas Ray Haas, 80, of Carriere, Mississippi passed away on January 1, 2023.
Douglas was born on September 25, 1942 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a retired horse racing trainer and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He served three tours in the Vietnam War and receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat. He loved horse racing, crabbing, cooking.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Haas, III and Norma Patterson Haas; one son, Kristian Thomas Haas; and one granddaughter, Shena Meshell.
Family members include his wife, Diane Haas; and two daughters, Tina Marie Pounds and Nicole Bertone.
Graveside services will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery (400 Veterans Avenue, Biloxi, MS, 39531) on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 10:00 am with military honors.
