Edgar Cornelius Penton

Edgar Cornelius Penton, age 71 of Carriere, Mississippi passed away Friday, June 27, 2014.
A visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Picayune Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at Picayune Funeral Home, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 10 a.m. with Bro. James Reeves and Bro Wesley Quave officiating. Burial will follow at Carriere Cemetery under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
Edgar was a lifelong resident of Carriere, and a member of Westlawn Baptist Church. He was with the Pearl River County Sheriff's department for many years.
He is survived by two daughters: Anita (Michael) Holmes and Jennifer Penton; two step-daughters, Michelle (Chad) Parker and Cathy (Emille) Mistretta; one step-son, Laray (Casey) Jarrell; five brothers, Edward Penton, Everett Penton, Ernest Penton, Eugene Penton and Edmond Penton; three sisters, Estell Garretson, Ester Smith and Eula Fleming; grandchildren, Clay (Caitlin) Palmer, Mattie Palmer, Mikey Holmes, Jaden Penton, Jillian Penton and Stephanie Jarrell; six step-grandchildren, Landon Jarrell, Cody Jarrell, Ashley Parker, Chad Parker Jr, Cameron Parker, Trey Mistretta and two Great-grandchildren, Ally Palmer and Lilly Adams.
He was preceded in death of his parents Alford and Irma Penton; his wife, Faye Penton; three brothers, Elliot Penton, Ellis Penton, and Elvin Penton; and one sister, Edna Moody.
