Edna Irma Moody, age 74, of Carriere passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Picayune Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, October 31, 2011 at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Gary Smith officiating. Burial will follow at George Ford Cemetery.
Edna was life time resident of Pearl River County, a homemaker and a Baptist.
She is survived by one son, Dennis R. Smith of Carriere; two daughters Debra Salazar of South Haven, Mississippi and Kathy Rogers of Alabama; two step-sons, Franklin Moody, Jr. of Picayune and Billy Moody of Picayune; two step-daughters Evelyn Coleman of Picayune and Tina Moody of Houston, Texas; six brothers, Edward Penton, Everett Penton, Ernest Penton, Edgar Penton, Eugene Penton and Edmond Penton all of Carriere; three sisters, Estelle Garretson of Carriere, Eula Fleming of Picayune and Ester Smith of Poplarville; twenty grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin G. Moody, Sr.; two sons, Curtis Lynn Davis, Sr. and John F. Smith, Sr.; one step-son, Darrell Norris; one step-daughter Lorie Ann Moody; three brothers, Elliot Penton, Elvin Penton and Ellis Penton; one great-granddaughter Michaela.
