Elaine Lumpkin, 64, of Picayune, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023 in Ochsner Northshore Medical Center, Slidell.
Elaine was born May 18, 1958 in Picayune, Mississippi. She was a homemaker and retired as an assistant teacher in the local school system. Elaine enjoyed a vibrant life on-the-go. Whether it was riding motorcycles, singing karaoke, or winning slots at the casino - sitting at home was not in her vocabulary. Above all, she was fiercely devoted to family, especially her grandchildren.
Elaine is preceded in death by her father, Richard Mills; and one sister-in-law, Lori Mills.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Mark E. Lumpkin, Sr.; three sons, Mark E. Lumpkin, Jr., Joshua N. (Colleen) Lumpkin; Jeremy M. Lumpkin; her mother, Erma Jean (James R. "Buddy") Brinks; her grandchildren, Madeliene Lumpkin, Avery Lumpkin, Zella Gene Lumpkin; two brothers, William R. (Frances) Mills, Arnie M. Mills; two sisters, Barbara (Lawrence) Wilbanks, and Rebecca A. (Richard) Reed.
Funeral services will be held at Picayune Funeral Home (815 S Haugh Ave, Picayune, MS, 39466) on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery (2618 Hwy 43 S, Picayune, MS, 39466). The family will receive friends and have visitation one hour prior to the service, Thursday at the funeral home.
