Eugenia Muckelrath

Mrs. Eugenia Muckelrath, formerly of Raleigh, MS died Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2021 at the age of 90 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Zelma Hegwood, her husband, Winfred Muckelrath, and two daughters, Alice Rodriguez and Janice Berry. She is survived by her brothers Alvin Hegwood, wife Darleen, and Jerry Hegwood, wife Faye, all of Cline, MS. Eugenia is also survived by her daughters and son-in-laws: Linda and John Frenz of Brandon, MS, Sara and David Bridges of Pinola, MS, and Rachel and David Blackledge of Petal, MS. Additionally, Eugenia leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Eugenia graduated from Belhaven College with a BA in English. She was a member of Raleigh United Methodist and First Methodist Church of Picayune, MS. An excellent conversationalist, great thinker, and forever memorable lady, Eugenia enjoyed sewing, photography, painting, fishing, nature, family, and friends.
Picayune Funeral Home is providing some services for the family. Burial and funeral service for Mrs. Muckelrath will be at Providence Lutheran Church and Cemetery in Burns, MS on December 18, 2021 at 10:30 am. Friends and family are invited.
