Gertie Catherine Mcmurray

Gertie Catherine McMurray of Carriere, Mississippi, age 101 years old, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2018, with her daughter, Dorothy Diaz Savoie at her bedside.

Gertie was preceded in death by her parents, Clair Chenevert and Clea' Chenevert; her sons, Gary H. Cole and Dalbert R. Guidroz, and her siblings, Odile, Odilia, Mable, Houston, Clair Jr., and Benton.

A Celebration of Life will be held by her family, with her friends and Gertie's favorite Friday Night Solid Gold Band.

Gertie leaves this earth with no regrets. She lived a full, wonderful life, complete with great loves and endeavors. She had a wonderful zest for life and was an inspiration to us all. She lived the life that she intended. Her memories and her stories, along with her words of wisdom will live on through her surviving family, her daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and her niece.

She will come to full circle, being interred in New Roads, Louisiana, the place of her birth.
