Gladys E. Strain, age 87, of Carriere passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at her residence.
Gladys was born in Carriere and lived there most of her life. She was a Member of Union Baptist Church and loved to sing old hymns, being outdoors and working in her gardens. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Picayune Funeral Home, Tuesday June 4, 2019, 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Services will follow in the Picayune Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Buddy Sheriff officiating. Burial will follow at Pearson Cemetery in Carriere.
Survivors include: three sons; Douglas M. Strain of Carriere, Mississippi, Jim Strain of Carriere, Mississippi and Mark Strain of Taylor, Texas, one daughter; Patti Jennings of Palestine Texas, one sister Alice Slater of Bend Oregon, Nine Grandchildren, Nineteen Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joe R. Lee and Meadie Bounds Lee, her husband, Douglas Strain; two brothers: Charles Lee and Joey Lee; one sister, Joan Lee Strain, and three grandchildren, Brittany, Dustin and Shane.
