Rev. James Murray Kennedy, Sr. of Picayune, Mississippi passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the age of 86.
Rev. James was a lifelong resident of Picayune, Mississippi and a member of McNeill First Apostolic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and had a passion for teaching the Bible and loved his family.
He is Survived by his wife, Dorothy Kennedy of Picayune, Mississippi; sons, Donnie Kennedy (Jennie) of Picayune, Mississippi, Tommy Kennedy of Tennessee, "Jimmy" James Kennedy, Jr. (Desiree) of Carriere, Mississippi, Robert Bales (Charlotte) of Picayune, Mississippi, Perry Bales of Slidell, Louisiana, Mark Bales (Lianne) of Carriere, Mississippi, and Dewayne Kennedy (Melissa) of Necaise, Mississippi; Daughters, Marsha Crocker (Art) of Picayune, Mississippi, Deborah Kennedy of Leetown, Mississippi, Melanie Beard (Brad) of Texas; brothers, Terry Kennedy (Rosaphine) of McNeill, Mississippi, and Elvin Ray Kennedy of Tennessee; sisters, Evelyn Smith of Carriere, Barbara Grader of Poplarville, Mississippi and Mavis Glidewell of McNeill, Mississippi; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Nettie Kennedy; brother, Lavie Kennedy; sister, Madalou Smith.
A Private Service will be held at a later date.
