James Vondell Walters (73) some knew as Zip of Picayune, Mississippi passed away on Sunday October 13, 2024.
James was born on January 16, 1951 in Laurel, Mississippi to parents Gene Vondell Walters and Lefa Baucum Walters. He graduated from Stringer High School in Stringer Mississippi and spent many 40+ years working as a machinist/welder but since retirement He enjoyed spending his time visiting with his neighbors Mr. Steve Mayeaux on the porch he also enjoyed making candles, watching Nascar (which he never missed a race), and he loved cooking.
James was in a partnership with the love of his life Doris Ann Gerhart. James is also survived by his daughter Sheila Walters-Odom from Picayune
He is preceded in death by his Son William Walters, wife Pamela K. Walters, father Gene Vondell Walters, mother Lefa Baucum Walters, and brother Billy Butler.
James’ memory will be cherished by his daughter Sheila, sister Cheryl Ann Bufkin, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for James will be held at a date to be announced.
