Jeannette Louise Ortego Dauzat

Jeannette Louise Ortego Dauzat, age 79, was born on June 18, 1945. She died on February 15, 2025. Jeannette was a resident of Carriere, MS but lived most of her life in Louisiana and grew up in Moreauville, La.

She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Joseph Dauzat Sr. who she loved and cherished. Beloved mother of Paula Marie Dauzat (Mervin), Tammy Lynn Haase’ (Chuck), Daniel Herman Dauzat Jr. (Dana), and Brian Alfred Dauzat.

She is the daughter of the late Alfred Joseph Ortego and Margaret Lemoine Ortego. She is the grandmother of the late Alexis Ann La Martina and Alyssa Margaret Dauzat.

She is survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She is survived by four siblings, Avis Ortego, Linda Ducote, Debbie Abbott and Wanda Lambert.

Jeannette battled dementia for six years. She was loved and cared for by her devoted family. A very special thank you to her Angels and Bedford Nursing Care. We will never forget the care and friendship you provided to our mother. Family and Friends are invited to attend the services at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1000 Goodyear Boulevard Picayune, MS 39466 on February 20, 2025, from 10:00am – 12:00pm.
