Jessie Lee Polkey Jr.
November 16, 1970 — August 18, 2023
Jessie Lee Polkey, Jr., 52, of Carriere, MS, died on Friday, August 18, 2023 in a motorcycle accident.
Jessie is preceded in death by his father Jessie Polkey, Sr. and his niece, Brandi Ann Roy.
Survivors include his loving wife Carol Chandler Polkey; his son, Dylan (Renee) Polkey; his mother, Kathy Sketoe; his father-in- law, Ronald Chandler, who was his bonus Dad; two sisters Lisa (Kent) Sharp, Sherri Polkey Roy; one brother, David Whipple and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, along with an abundance of friends.
Jessie’s wife Carol writes:
Jessie was the love of my life, he was an amazing father and the best husband. He was sensitive and wore his heart on his sleeve. He brought me random flowers and wrote love songs about our amazing life and our experiences He was unapologetic and sometimes frustrating but he loved like no one else.
He brought out the best in me, and he loved his family more than anything He never met a stranger and was loved by everyone that met him. He definitely was the life of any party. He had two speeds full throttle or sleeping. He would try to help anyway possible. He was a hard worker and a wonderful provider. He always had a smile and a sparkle in his eyes and maybe a joke if you had time and he may tell it even if you didn’t.
We loved and lived a lifetime in our short 37 years together and I wish I had 37 more with him but God had other plans for him. We are all broken and our world is a bit dimmer without him but he wouldn’t want us to be sad. So live your lives hold your loved ones tight spend your time and money on experiences instead of “things” because memories are forever.
I love you my angel and rest easy until we meet again.
A celebration of Jessie’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (1309 Hwy 11 South, Picayune, MS, 39466). The family will receive friends and have visitation from 10:00 am until services. Following the ceremony, a reception will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church.
