Joyce Arlene Allen

Joyce Arlene Allen, 87, of Picayune, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Joyce was born July 21, 1935 in Wahoo, Nebraska and raised on a farm in Ithaca. She married Bill in 1954 and they moved around the country 20+ times in 20 years. She was a retired legal secretary and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Picayune.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Leona Hagstrom; her husband, Bill Allen; one son, Dale Allen; and one sister, JoAnn Obermiller.
She is survived by her two children; Sandra Smith and husband Daniel of Diana, TX, David Allen and his wife Kathi of Austin, TX; grandchildren Christopher, Jason, Stephanie, DJ and Bradley and seven great grandchildren.
A celebration of Mom’s life will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church (200 W Anderson Lane, Austin, TX, 78752) on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 10:30 am.
In remembrance of Joyce’s life, the family requests donations be made to Gethsemane Lutheran Children’s Ministry, 200 W Anderson Ln, Austin, Texas 78752.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Timeless Grace in Carriere, Mississippi and Homecare Hospice for their staffs loving and compassionate care of Ms. Joyce.
