Kim Rai Charboneau, born at New Orleans Baptist Hospital on September 24th, 1970, passed on June 5th, 2016 at the age of 45, after fighting a rare brain tumor for 8 months and 12 days. Kim had a diverse set of accomplishments such as an Associate's Degree in Design Drafting Technology, being a U.S. Navy aviation mechanic, production technician, bartender, equestrian caregiver, heavy equipment operator, deckhand, among others. Key interests were Motorcycle Safety Awareness, the NRA, fishing, traveling, doing crosswords, continuing her education at UNO learning Spanish and Sign Language, and many more.
Kim will be greatly missed by her father: Kenneth R. Charboneau and his wife Brenda D. Hamilton Charboneau, fiancée: Wayne A. Ferry, mother: Alicia M. Fandal, daughter: Stephanie R. Charboneau, granddaughter: Abigail L. Alfaro Charboneau, uncle: Garry L. Charboneau, maternal grandmother: Ruth W. Fandal, aunt Mary Louise, aunt Margie, aunt Jeanne, lifelong friend Jeff Wood along with other family and friends. Those dear to Kim who went on before her were: paternal grandparents: Victor B. Charboneau and Dorothy M. Charboneau, and maternal grandfather: Warren G. (Sam) Fandal.
A special celebration in her honor will be held on Saturday June 11th, 2016 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at 213 Ranger Place, Slidell, LA 70458. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Motorcycle Awareness Campaign in honor of Kim Charboneau. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Passages Hospice who helped take care of Kim during her last days here with us.
