Kitty Cumberland Killen of Picayune, Mississippi went to her heavenly home on Thursday August 4, 2022, at the age of 53.
Kitty was a sixteen-year resident of Picayune. She was raised in Philadelphia, MS. She was a devoted wife of thirty-six years and a nurturing and compassionate mother of three children. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Steep Hollow Baptist Church where she participated in the women's ministry and taught several Bible studies. Kitty was a true example of a kind-hearted, wise, giving and unwavering Christian woman. Her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." She worked full-time at Consolidated Barge and Grain since moving to Picayune. Kitty loved spending time with her family, especially on their camping trips. She enjoyed reading in her spare time. She will be tremendously missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Killen; parents, Jerry and Faye Cumberland; children, Keri K. Griggs (Jay), Morgan Leigh Killen, and Matthew A. Killen; brother, Dan T. Cumberland; sister and brother in-law, Barry and Cheri Hucks; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other family members.
Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, at Picayune Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held in Philadelphia, Mississippi, Saturday August 13, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church. Services to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sandtown Cemetery.
