Lawanda Kay Pruitt (76) passed away on Tuesday March 12th, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Lawanda was born in Amherst Texas on July 7th, 1947 to parents Osburn Foster Phillips, and Willie Lee Phillips.
A long time resident of Picayune, Lawanda was the Mailroom Shop Lead at Stennis Space Center for 23 years. She enjoyed reading books, spoiling all her grandchildren and was a loving wife, mother and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents Osburn Foster Phillips, Willie Lee Phillips, and brother Albert James “AJ” Phillips.
Lawanda's memory will be cherished by her loving husband of 58 years George Pruitt, Daughters Sandie (Scott) Hoetger, Michelle Pruitt (Joey), Son Shawn Pruitt (Dixie), brother Weldon Lee (Sue) Phillips, Sister-in-law Jan Phillips, grandchildren Christopher Shaw, Candi (Paul) Manzon, Brandi (Jeremy) Robishaw, Devin Pruitt (Cody) , Austin (Daniel) Smith, Jacob Rester (Courtney), Drew Tastet, Madalyne Tastet, Brooklyn Tastet, Alexander Seymour, Benjamin Pruitt, and 11 great grandchildren.
A memorial service in her honor will be held at Picayune Funeral Home 815 S. Haugh Ave. Picayune, MS 39466 on Sunday March 17th, 2024 at 2PM officiated by Pastor Robin Martin. Visitation will be held from 12PM-2PM.
