Leon H. Herkes

Leon H. Herkes, age 81, of Picayune passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Gulf State LTAC-Slidell.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 7th from 6-9 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Leon was a native of New Orleans, LA, the Chief Quality Control Engineer at Martin-Marietta, and
a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Herkes of Picayune ;son, Leon H. Herkes, Jr. of Picayune; two daughters, Anna Bordelon of Picayune and Cheryl Caro of Geismar, LA ;sister, Leah Perniciaro of Louisiana ;five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
He is preceded in death by ;his parents, Leon A. Herkes and Leah Herkes; brother, Warren Herkes and
a grandchild
