Leslie James Bailey

Leslie James Bailey of Picayune, Mississippi passed away Monday September 11, 2023, at the age of 75.

Leslie was a proud Veteran of the US Navy. He served in the Vietnam War, sailed aboard the USS Boxer, and helped recover the first Apollo Satellite. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harry L. Bailey; brother, Micky Bailey; and daughter, Donna Bedwell Roy.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, Sylvia Bailey; mother, Jackie Bennett; children, Daylin Bedwell, Robin Bedwell, Matthew Bailey, Mary Nguyen, and Jamie Fontenot (Bear); brother, Jerry Bailey (Ellen); sisters, Robin Gilman (Kelvin) and Cheri Duvie (Michael); grandchildren, Jhy Bedwell, Colton Bedwell, Harley Bedwell, Summer Bedwell, Anthony Fontenot, Desirae Fontenot, Jordan Nguyen, Ty Nguyen, and Laken; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Friday September 15, 2023. Services 4:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home.
