Lois Hingle Knight, 94, born September 28, 1930, in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, to Ernest and Leontine Hingle, passed away peacefully on September 29,2024.
A devoted Catholic, she was a cherished member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Kiln.
Lois married Herbert Ray Knight on January 24, 1953. She enjoyed a fulfilling career at St. Stanislaus College, where she sold her favorite donuts at the student center/mall. Later, she dedicated 29 years as a seamstress at Bridalaire before retiring to care for her husband.
Her passions included her family, sewing, cooking, and tending to her farm in Picayune. Lois had a remarkable memory and loved sharing stories of her childhood and early years. In recent months, she found joy attending Mass on Fridays with her great-granddaughter Ryleigh.
After five challenging years, she is finally at peace in Heaven, reunited with her husband, Herbert Ray Knight, and her sons Jody and Johnnie. Lois is survived by her sister, Elaine Stromeyer; daughter, Lois Ray (Ronnie) LaFontaine; daughters-in-law, Linda Knight Kivlan and Sharon Moore: beloved granddaughters, Anna LaFontaine and Melissa McHale, grandsons Cole LaFontaine, Eric, Steven, Matthew, Dennis, and Adam Knight; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on Saturday October 5, 2024 at 11AM.
Friends and Family are invited to visit from 9AM-11AM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorials to Annunciation Catholic Church.
