Madison Clayton Moore

Madison Clayton Moore of Picayune, Mississippi, age 89, passed away in his home, on September 5, 2013.
Visitation will be at Picayune Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brad Replogle officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Moore was born in Jasper County, Mississippi. Clayton was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Force. He retired from Champion International, Inc. in 1984 and in 1992 moved to Picayune, Mississippi. Clayton was a member of Roseland Park Baptist Church. He was also a Mason and a Shriner.

Clayton was preceded in death by one son, Madison Clayton Moore, Jr., his parents, Maudie Mae and Clarence Clifford Moore; and seven sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include: his wife of 67 years, Bettye Jean Parker Moore; his son, Shelton Eugene Moore and his wife Arie of St. Claire Shores, Michigan; his daughter, Betty Cecile Brookover and her husband Tim of Houston, Texas; one granddaughter, Laura Brookover and her husband Fritz Scanlon of Washington D. C.; and two grandsons, Matthew Brookover of Boston, Massachusetts and Jake Moore and his wife Lauren of Auburn Hills, Michigan.
