Margaret Schomaker Chester

Margaret Schomaker Chester (Reetie), 92 of Lumberton (Gumpond), formerly of Metairie, LA, MS died on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at her residence.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Schomaker; mother, Irene Klein Schomaker; husband of 15 years, Edsel Chester; brother, John Schomaker (Charlotte); two sons -in-law, Donald Dufresne, Eric Chuter; one grandson, Craig Dufresne.

Survivors include her children, Darlene Chuter, Edward Chester (Donna), Debra Burns, Dorri Audiffred (Jody); grandchildren, Shana Chrisman (James), Hollie Shope (Lee), Nicholas Chester, Dustin Newman (Megan), Devin Audiffred (Goldie), Dylan Audiffred, Drake Audiffred, Laken Audiffred; great grandchildren, Amanda Kerr (Jesse), Jason Chrisman, Meagan Chrisman, Ophelia Newman, Desi Newman; great-great grandchildren, Ashlyn Kerr, Everleigh Kerr, Owen Kerr; brother, George Schomaker (Dottie); caregiver, Malinda Gipson; sister-in-law, Charlotte Schomaker; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Margaret was a Loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. She loved the holidays, especially decorating for Christmas.

Funeral services will be held at Juniper Grove Baptist Church (289 Juniper Grove Road, Poplarville, MS, 39470) on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
