Martin B. "Sam" Sampaga, Jr., age 77, of Picayune passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his residence.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Pines Apartments for close friends and relatives.
Sam was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and
was a retired Federal Employee of the Pearl Harbor Shipyard, Honolulu, Hawaii. He loved serenading his wife and friends by playing his ukulele.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Dyess Sampaga of Picayune ,his devoted Cocker Spaniel, Andy ;three daughters, Raynette Bantolina of Honolulu, Hawaii , April Rapez of Honolulu, Hawaii ,Journette Napeahi of Kona, Hawaii ,one son, Carl Wayne Sampaga of Washington, one brother, Crispino Sampaga of Wahiawa, Hawaii ;seventeen grandchildren ;eighteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews;grandnieces and grandnephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Seraphine Sampaga; his father, Martin Sampaga, Sr.; son, Carlton Reese Sampaga.
