Marvin M. "Sonny" Mitchell, Jr., 76 of Gulfport, Mississippi (formerly of Picayune), passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023.
Sonny was born October 17, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a retired carpenter and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Norma Gipson Roden and Marvin Monroe Mitchell, Sr.; wife, LaNelle Mitchell; and one daughter, Brenna M. Barnes.
Family members include one daughter, Sunni "Krista" Mitchell; grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Devin Mitchell, Sheridan (Corey) Hall, Madyson Mitchell, Kerigan St. Amand, Triniti (Chandler) Hill; and a host of great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on at VFW Post 3804, 421 Ridge Road, Picayune, MS, 39466 on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 3:00 pm. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Private burial at a later date.
