Mary Ella Stokes Champagne of Picayune, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday September 21, 2022, at the age of 75.
Mary Ella Champagne, born October 2, 1946, in Minter City, Mississippi to the late Arthur Stokes and Floy Era Bradshaw Stokes. She was a longtime resident of Picayune. She was an Elvis enthusiast and collected his memorabilia. She was loved and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her three daughters, Melissa Beineke, Ann Ducote, and Sonya Frierson (Mike); eight grandchildren, Stephanie Jarrell, Devin Delaney, Taylor Beineke (Carlie), Toni Ducote, Zach Frierson, Briana Frierson, Samantha Ducote, and Noah Ducote; five great-grandchildren, Leo Delaney, Lilly Adams, Adaline Beineke, Ava Beineke, and Henry Gilkeson. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Buttercup; special friend, Barry Mizell; and Amy Dossett whom she loved like a daughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Floy Era Stokes; husband, Leo Champagne; four brothers, John L. Stokes, Arthur "Red" Stokes Jr, James Marion Stokes, and little brother; four sisters, Ruthie Mae Hamilton, Jesse Virginia Newsome, Ruby Francis Jacks, and Mildred Era Bennett.
Visitation will be held 2:30 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. Friday September 30, 2022, at Picayune Funeral Home with services to begin at 4:00 p.m. officiated by Bro. Rodney Burns.
