Mary Kathleen Gardner

Mary Kathleen Gardner passed away peacefully on June 16, 2021. Born and raised on the Mississippi River in Reserve, Louisiana, she relocated with her husband first to Chalmette, then to Sumrall, Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina. Widely known as "Mrs.Kat" (sometimes even Katherine), she was well-loved by everyone.

Mary was the loving matriarch of one big happy blended family. She loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren, and she wasn't with them she was boasting about them.

She was married for over 40 years until the death of her husband in 2012. She missed him dearly and looked forward to the day she would be reunited with him in Heaven.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, L.E. Gardner; son Christopher Gardner Sr; parents Felix and Noelie; brothers Felix Jr. and Kenneth.

She is survived by her daughter Tina and her husband Daniel; daughter-in-law Jamie and her husband Layne; sisters Carolyn and Sherri; brothers Michael, Ronald, Donald and Ricky; five grandchildren Robyn, Brittney, Kaitlyn, Rebecca, and Rachel; and four great grandchildren Triston, Caylee, Keegan, and Kinley.

A private family memorial will be held on July 17, 2021.
