Maurice William Holmes

Maurice William Holmes, age 85, of Carriere, Mississippi passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Bassfield City Cemetery.
Mr. Holmes was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Maurice William Holmes, III of Covington, Louisiana, and Alex Hugh Holmes of Bassfield, MS; one daughter, Lisa Lueders Monnier of Slidell, Louisiana; one brother, Howard Hanford Holmes; and five grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Blanche Holmes; wife, Charlotte Speights Holmes; one brother Norman LeRoy Holmes; and one sister Shirley Romas.
