Muriel Fay Gasper (96) of Picayune passed away on June 12, 2024.
Fay was born and raised in New Orleans to parents Oscar and Adelina Gelpi.
Resident of Picayune since 1953, Fay was a devoted parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, former President of the St. Charles Altar Society, and the Flat Top Home Demonstration Club. Most of all she was a loving mother of six children, and dedicated wife, who enjoyed spending hours playing sudoku, cooking, and sewing.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years William “Bill” Andrew Gasper, father Oscar Joseph Gelpi, mother Adelina Belsom Gelpi, brother Gerald James Gelpi, sons-in-law Thomas Tufaro, and Clint Cuevas.
Fay’s memory will be cherished by her sons Gerald Gasper, Curtis Gasper, Chester Gasper, Andrew Gasper (Patti), daughters Linda Tufaro (Thomas), Jean Cuevas (Clint), grandchildren Eugene Cuevas, William Cuevas, Jonathan Gasper, Matthew Gasper, Kyle Gasper, Christine LeBlanc, Joshua Gasper, Kayla Gasper, great-grandchildren Olivia Cuevas, Julia Cuevas, Isaac Cuevas, Adam Gasper, Michael Gasper, Dante Gasper, Marley LeBlanc, Dustin LeBlanc, Hunter LeBlanc, Jalynn Morton, Lily Bazor, and Wren Gasper.
A Catholic Funeral Mass in Mrs. Fay's honor will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Saturday June 15, 2024 at 11AM. Visitation begins at 10AM. Burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
