Myrtis Adcox

Myrtis "Nell" Adcox, of Picayune, Mississippi passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the age of 83, in the comfort of her home.

Nell was a longtime resident of Picayune and a member of West Union Baptist Church. She loved working with kids and had a passion for teaching children how to read that were struggling. She enjoyed reading, sewing and sitting outdoors watching nature. Some of her favorite things was to watch old television shows, go to Sonic for strawberry milkshakes, and fried chicken livers from Logans. Nell was a loving mother and grandmother; her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by three daughters, Vickie B. Moore, Donna A. Barnes and Karla A. Graham; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Adcox; parents, Cyril Waggoner and Gertrude Harrell Waggoner; one son, James Gregory Burge; one daughter, Karen Darlene Burge; one brother, Herbert Waggoner; one sister, Nancy Lee.

Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m.-9:00p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Picayune Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at West Union Baptist Church with Brother Bud Putman officiating. Burial will follow service.
