Ned Simons Ambrose

Ned Simons Ambrose, age 79, of Carriere passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 at his residence.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Ambrose, a native of Maryland, moved to Carriere from Florida fifteen years ago. He enlisted in the military at the age of sixteen and served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1945-1948 in Germany under General Curtis LaMay. In 1948 he served in the U.S. Army's 11th Airborne Division. He volunteered
to serve in the Korean Conflict in 1950 with the 5th RCT, until he was wounded. After hospitalization, he returned to the United States and served with the 503rd Military Police Division.
In 1951 his second tour of duty was with Rakkasan's 187th Airborne Combat Team. Later he transferred to the 24th Infantry Division at Mt. Fuji, Japan, where he was a
