Nina Ellen Baughman, a cherished soul and beacon of kindness, left this world on February 25, 2025, at the age of 67, in Bogalusa. Born on January 26, 1958, in Kansas City, Nina was known to many as one of the most caring individuals you could ever meet. Her compassion knew no bounds; she would always give a stranger the shirt off her back, highlighting an unwavering generosity that inspired all who were fortunate enough to know her. Nina dedicated 25 years of her life to running Factory Direct Furniture in Bogalusa, where her spirit and devotion was felt by anyone who walked through the door.
Nina’s life was filled with love, laughter, and the comfort of family. She adored her pets, Cash and Baby, who were always a source of joy in her life. Her heart overflowed with pride for her grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She found immense joy in watching her family grow, including her newest great-granddaughter, Kennedy Marie Lindsey.
Nina dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her loved ones. She is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Baughman who stood by her side for many cherished years since they married on August 18, 2000; her daughters, Jennifer Lindsey (Brian) and Misty Silcio (Donald); her son, Tommy Dean Baughman (Telina); and her daughter Sara Baughman. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Lane Lindsey (Jordan), Chandler Bougeois, Jada Lindsey, Cailey Fleming, and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Marie Lindsey. The bonds she shared with her family are strong and enduring, serving as a testament to her loving spirit.
Her two sisters, Melody Kendrick and Debra Kendrick; brothers Mark Kendrick and Edward Johnson; and her brother and sister-in-law, Brian (Jan) Baughman and Pauline Crisp, all deeply mourn her passing, remembering her laughter and warmth during their cherished moments together.
Nina is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and JoAnn Kendrick; sisters June Mason, Regina Kendrick and Merrylynn Kendrick.
Throughout her life, Nina often shared words of wisdom that resonated with the hearts of those around her. When asked about her best piece of advice, she simply said, ‘It’s really really really important to love yourself.” This reflection of her own life was a gentle reminder to everyone about the importance of self-acceptance and love.
As we gather to honor her memory, a visitation will be held on March 1, 2025, at Picayune Funeral Home from 1:00PM to 3:00PM, Service to begin at 3:00PM at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a burial at New Palestine Cemetery.
Though Nina Ellen Baughman may have departed from this earthly realm, her spirit, kindness, and love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, a reminder to us all to love and support each other through life’s journey.
