Nolen "Cass" Cassell

Nolen C Cassell Jr, age 63, of Carriere, MS passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 in Forrest General Hospital.

Nolen (Cass) was a member of Picayune First United Methodist Church.

He loved fishing, working in his garden, starting many new projects while completing others and spending time with his family. Cass was known to carry a pocket full of candy to church and was known as the Candy Man by the kids.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Patricia (Patsy) Tierce Cassell; 5 children: Matthew Cassell (Jessica), Samantha Cassell, Amanda Cassell, Tava Zoe’ Cassell and James Cassell; 2 grandchildren: Ginger and Oliver Cassell; 2 brothers: David (Lori) Cassell, Bobby Cassell; 2 sisters: Patricia (Eugene) Sprouse, Diana Broussard; mother-in-law: Elizabeth Tierce and many other nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Preceded in death by his parents: Nolen C Cassell, Sr & Patricia A Cassell; brother: William (Billy) Cassell; father-in-law: Bobby Tierce and many other loved ones.

We were blessed to call him husband and friend, daddy, Cass, Brother and Candy Man. Love you my sweet; till we meet again.

Funeral services will be held at Picayune First United Methodist Church (323 North Haugh Avenue, Picayune, MS, 39466) on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Carriere First Baptist Church Cemetery (171 Smith Street, Carriere, MS, 39426). Visitation one hour prior to service, Wednesday at the church.
