Mr. Mitchell was a lifetime resident of Picayune, and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Janet Mitchell of Picayune; one son, Nicholas Daniel Mitchell and his wife Rachel of Picayune; one sister, Doris Elizabeth of Lafayette, Louisiana; and two grandchildren, Mila Nicole Mitchell, and Nicholas Daniel Mitchell, II.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Amel Mitchell, Sr. and Doris Elizabeth Mitchell; and one brother, Alvin H. Curtis.
