"A Celebration of Life for Patricia Schaubhut"
May 20, 1948 - January 5, 2020
A celebration of the life and love of our mom, Mrs. Patricia Ann Romano Schaubhut, will be held at Picayune Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11, 2020, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. with services for 1:00 p.m.
Pat Schaubhut was greeted by her Lord and Savior the morning of Sunday, January 5th, at the age of 71.
Our mom was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Audrey Romano, and the love of her life, our dad, Robert Joseph Schaubhut, Jr. She is survived by her brothers, Mickey Romano and Desi Romano and her sister, Sandra Taranto.
Pat raised and loved with all her being seven children, Melissa Licali (Michael), Joseph Robert Schaubhut, III (Promise), Christina Smith (David), Jason Schaubhut (Michelle), Bethany Vieregge (Glenn), Kelly Brown (d. Tyler), and Jeremy Schaubhut. She has been blessed with seventeen grandchildren, Ashleigh (Tony), James, Heather, Chloe (Scott), Zechariah, Joshua (Nikki), Krystalynn (Samuel) Michelle (Bradley), Victoriana (Camden), Emily, Jayvan, Sara, Braelynn, Olivia, Glenn, Taylor, and Isabella. These grandchildren gave her the gift of twelve great-grandchildren.
While these numbers are a strong testament to the physical legacy our mom leaves behind, it is the legacy she has given us in the Spirit that causes us to continue to press forward toward the mark.
This "High Calling" is what she has instilled in each of us.
It was in her as a young girl who thought she would become a nun. Our dad would have something to say about that. It was in her when a lady selling Bibles knocked on our door. It was in her when those closest to her called her crazy, and she held to a faith only God could give.
It was in her knees, long spent in prayer. It was in the pen-stained margins of her Dake's Bible that only she could read. It was in her laugh, her smile, her tears. It was in every fiber of her being.
This is the legacy she not only leaves to us, but offers to each of you, too.
Please join us as we celebrate the life of our mom, Pat. There is no need to wear all black, as our tears and our sorrow will be turned to joy.
