Prentiss Lavon Burks, age 80 of Picayune, Mississippi passed away Friday, October 4, 2019.
He was a member of Unity Baptist Church and Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Southcentral Bell for 33 years and was a farmer at heart.
Prentiss is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Burks of Picayune; sons: James Andrew Burks of Washington, Larry Lavon Burks (Sonya) of Washington, Judd Burks (Alison) of California, Joey Archer (Darlene) of Carriere, "Sonny" Archer (Becky) of Picayune; two daughters, Joann Marie Buselmeier, of Washington and Lisa Burks; daughter-in-law, Amy Archer of Carriere; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: His parents, James Solomon and Velma Burks; two sons, Jim Archer and Dustin Burks; one brother, Herbert Burks, and one sister, Jewel Wheat; grandson, Josiah Archer.
Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Henleyfield, Wednesday October 9, 2019. Graveside services will follow at First Baptist Church of Henleyfield Cemetery.
